La Vietnamina in El Born (7/10)

SO we wanted to try something a little different than typical tapas/ (pinxos in Barcelona) … and stumbled across this cute little Vietnamese place while on a long walk around the city! The ambiance in this place is what we liked the most – it’s beautiful outdoor seating is what drew us in to look at the menu and when we peaked inside we figured we had to stay!

La Vietnamina is located in one of my FAVORITE barrios in Barcelona – El Born .. known for it’s artsy/hipster community; the streets are covered in impressive graffiti murals of all shapes and sizes and the streets are full of eclectic shops and restaurants.

Although we tried two specials from the daily special rolls/bowls (the roll was Tofu!), I think we should’ve given one of the cocktails a shot considering it seemed that they were known for their funky offerings! We loved the presentation but were not AS impressed by the flavor, or slight lack-there-of.. Not truly ready to write this one off though – especially considering it was my first stab at vietnamese cuisine! Definitely going to need a take two :).. with a cocktail next time 😛
