Graffiti Walls on Avinguda del Paral·lel

I think it’s important to start off by mentioning that Avinguda del Paral·lel can also be said Avenida Paralel .. or Parallel Avenue if entirely in English! It’s a main street in Barcelona, got it’s name because it’s parallel to the equator and divides these three districts of the city; Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sants-Montjuïc.

Along this avenue there is a place called ‘Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies’ where there are a few large walls that different graffiti artists continuously paint over each others work with their own murals. Ultimately it makes this area one of the best to visit a few times if you want to see something different. People from many countries come to Barcelona with the hopes to leave behind their graffiti ‘tag’ if they happen to be visual artists. These walls are a great spot for that as long as they are completely okay with knowing their tag will be purely temporary.

The walls itself are within a skate park at large that also has many benches to rest on! Walking this direction from La Rambla is also a great way to get to the top of Mont Juïc [<- that link will bring you to my post on hiking there!]:)).
